Why the need for Pinhole Surgical Technique?

Although effective, this surgery is extensive as it involves using a scalpel to remove tissue from another area of the mouth, typically the upper palate or roof of the mouth, and sometimes from a donor. The tissue is then placed over the areas being treated and held in place by sutures. Recovery is extensive, and there is bleeding and swelling to deal with, as well as the risk of an infection.
